PREHISTORIC SITES

LASCAUX

Nicknamed the Sistine Chapel of cave art, this is the most important and most visited cave in the world. This facsimile, located 200 meters from the original cave, is a true feat and allows you to admire these works of art from another age even today.

THE CAVE OF A HUNDRED MAMMOTHS (Rouffignac)

Aboard an electric train, the tour allows you to immerse yourself in the mysterious world of caves and discover the art of prehistoric hunter-gatherers without tiring yourself out.

GAUME FONT

The Font-de-Gaume decorated cave is located in the commune of Les Eyzies-de-Tayac. Its walls contain more than 200 Magdalenian engravings and paintings. The Font-de-Gaume Cave is the last major decorated cave in France, displaying polychrome works, that is open to the public.

CASTELNAUD

A magnificent fortified castle built into the side of a cliff, Castelnaud houses the Museum of Medieval Warfare, magnificent collections of armor, crossbows, polearms, as well as life-size reconstructions of medieval war machines in the castle courtyard.

BEYNAC

Perched in the commune of Beynac-et-Cazenac, the castle faces Castelnaud, its longtime enemy. A magnificent visit that takes you back five centuries of history in the footsteps of Richard the Lionheart, Simon de Montfort, and the Hundred Years' War.

THE MILANDES

MARQUEYSSAC

In the town of Vézac, peacocks welcome you for a visit to a magnificent 22-hectare park overlooking the Dordogne River. A candlelit stroll is available every Thursday evening in July and August.

Located in the commune of Salignac, the gardens of the Manoir d'Eyrignac are recognized as the most beautiful gardens in the Périgord region. A magnificent example of French topiary art.

For water walking:
It is performed in the riverbed, with water up to mid-thighs. This walk is performed on pebbles or silty sand. This strengthens the action of the muscles, which contract, which has the effect of burning calories but also improving venous return and toning the leg. The water massage provides beneficial drainage and boosts blood circulation, particularly in the fight against cellulite and heavy legs.
